At the invitation of Fraunhofer IPA, Julia Senge and Florian Kaltenecker present their self-developed electronic nose (E-Nose) at the 3rd Stuttgart Science Festival. The E-Nose was developed as part of Florian Kaltenecker's master's thesis under the supervision of Julia Senge at the Institute of Food Informatics (150I). The E-Nose is intended to monitor the freshness of food in a non-destructive way and thus reduce food waste.

On Saturday, October 19, 2024, the campus of the Fraunhofer Industrial Center in Stuttgart (IZS) will open its doors to the public between 1 pm and 6 pm. The E-Nose will be presented there at an information stand and in presentations.

If you would like to find out more about the E-Nose now, you can visit the Fraunhofer IPA's biointelligence blog. In their article, Julia Senge, Florian Kaltenecker and Christian Krupitzer explain how the E-Nose works and how it could prevent food waste in the future with the help of intelligent algorithms.
