New accepted paper at IEEE International Conference on Autonomic Computing and Self-Organizing Systems (ACSOS)  [20.08.21]

Elia Henrichs from the Department of Food Informatics is author of the peer-reviewed conference paper "Enhancing the Smart, Digitized Food Supply Chain through Self-Learning and Self-Adaptive Systems" at the IEEE International Conference on Autonomic Computing and Self-Organizing Systems (ACSOS).

The publication "Enhancing the Smart, Digitized Food Supply Chain through Self-Learning and Self-Adaptive Systems" by Elia Henrichs (Department of Food Informatics, University of Hohenheim) was accepted at the Doctoral Symposium at the IEEE International Conference on Autonomic Computing and Self-Organizing Systems (peer-reviewed). The International Conference on Autonomic Computing and Self-Organizing Systems, which is sponsored by IEEE and is a merger of the IEEE International Conference on Autonomic Computing (ICAC, Core-Rating: B) and the IEEE International Conference on Self-Adaptive and Self-Organizing Systems (SASO), provides a forum for sharing the latest research results, ideas and experiences in autonomic computing, self-adaptation, and self-organization.

This work presents a concept to reduce food waste and improve food safety using adaptive systems in the food supply chain. These include smart sensors to adaptively monitor the food’s condition and machine learning frameworks to predict the food’s quality and shelf life. The build of a prototype is planned to evaluate the system.

The publication is available in IEEE Xplore.
