Intelligent Food Monitoring at the 3rd Biointelligence Congress [04.11.26]
At the 3rd Biointelligence Congress in Stuttgart on 6 October 2026, the University of Hohenheim presented a project on sensor-based food monitoring, carried out in cooperation with ASPION GmbH.Researchers, industry representatives and policymakers gathered at Messe Stuttgart for the 3rd Biointelligence Congress. The event focused on how biology, technology and computer science can be combined into sustainable, biointelligent value creation systems. The University of Hohenheim was one of the congress partners.
In the “Biointelligent Food” session, Elia Henrichs, research associate in the department of Food Informatics, presented the project “Biointelligent sensor-based Food Monitoring” as part of the S-TEC Tandem Talks. The project is carried out in cooperation with ASPION GmbH, a Karlsruhe-based manufacturer of data loggers for transport monitoring. Together, the partners are investigating whether these systems are also suitable for continuous, intelligent monitoring of food.
The congress was organised by Messe Stuttgart in collaboration with Fraunhofer IPA, Fraunhofer IGB, the University of Stuttgart and the University of Hohenheim.
