Wanted: IT System Administrator (m/f/d; TVL-E11) [14.04.22]
We are looking for an IT System Administrator (m/f/d) to support the IT infrastructure of the Department of Food Informatics and the Institute of Plant Breeding, Seed Science and Population Genetics at the University of Hohenheim, starting probably July 1, 2022.For the maintenance of the IT infrastructure (laptops [Windows, MacOS and Linux], IoT lab with Arduino and similar and sensor technology) and the server cluster of the department based on Proxmox VE we are looking for a System Administrator starting probably on July 01, 2022. The servers run applications such as Nextcloud, Gitlab, Docker containers, or virtual machines for computations in the context of the department's research (including machine learning with GPUs).
The scope of the position is 35.75 hrs/week (91%; 50% in an unlimited position, 41% as stand-in). The payment is according to pay grade EG 11 TVL-L. Partial home work is possible by arrangement. There is the possibility for students to take up this position parallel to their studies.
Requirements profile
Knowledge in the mentioned technologies, especially virtualization and containerization of servers or the willingness to learn them is expected. Formally, a Bachelor's degree is expected for classification in TVL-E 11, ideally in computer science or a related discipline. Programming skills (especially in Python) are not necessary, but can be very advantageous. Very good knowledge of German or English is expected.
